Keystroke Dynamics



Keystroke data contain a user's fixed typing pattern, and a biometrics technology using such data is called keystroke dynamics. Compared to other biometrics technologies, keystroke authentication has two different features. First, keystroke data can be measured using only a keyboard; any special equipment, such as fingerprint and retinal scanners, is not required. Second, this biometric measuring system has possible applications other than access authorization, such as continuous observations of users on a computer system even after log-in process.

  • Studied the robustness of keystroke dynamics and new profile generation methods for Japanese free text typing, and performed several different experiments with many subjects and error analysis.
